Was That Festival Worth It?

Count more than sales.

01

Subtract the real costs.

Account for the products you sold, booth fees, processing, travel and everything else the weekend cost.

02

Give your time a number.

See earnings per owner hour, including the work before and after the doors open.

03

Decide what deserves a repeat.

Use profit, hours and your own experience—not a universal ‘good event’ score—to guide your next booking.

The free single-event calculator

Start with your last festival.

Grab your receipts and sales totals. Your inputs stay in this page’s local state; they are not saved as event records.

Your event snapshot

Sales tell half the story.

Complete the fields to see your profit, margin, expenses and earnings per hour. Missing financial inputs must be filled in before calculating.

Profit is before income taxes and owner compensation—not take-home pay. Your own time is counted in hours, not deducted again as an expense. Negative profit is shown as a loss.

A few practical answers.

Is this just for 3D printing vendors?

That’s our starting audience, informed by Gleason 3D’s festival experience. Other makers can use the same sales, cost and time calculation.

Does this include taxes or pay for my own time?

No. Event profit is before income taxes and owner compensation. Earnings per owner hour divides that profit by all your event-related hours. Paid helpers are an event expense.

Will my events be saved or shared?

This calculator does not save event records or post anything. Saved comparisons and an optional Festival Report Card are future ideas, not live features. The planned report card will hide financial figures by default.

What makes an event worth booking again?

You decide. Compare the earnings with your own hourly target, then consider your event rating and lessons learned. Planning figures are estimates, not income guarantees.
